Walktober Competition
The Walktober competition was a huge success! We had 66 employees competing. All together that walked 6, 748,719 steps or 3,374 miles which is approximately how far it is to walk from Miami, FL to Seattle, WA. The grand prize drawing was held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at Noon in the Main Dining Area. The winner of the one-hour massage from Massage Envy was Stephen Morrow, Professor of English, and grand prize winner of the 2-day 1-night stay at an Oklahoma State Park Resort was Lisa Barsaleau, Accompanist for Arts and Humanities. Lisa Vaughan, Coordinator of Risk Management and Wellness Taskforce Chair would like to thank the OCCC Bookstore for the donation of Tee shirts, the Recreation and Fitness Department for the donation of water bottles, Massage Envy for the one-hour massage and Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department for the 2-day 1-night stay grand prize. She would also like to thank everyone that participated and to keep on stepping!
