This session is designed to offer an overview of faculty advising, including challenges and rewards of advising students. National trends of advising Two-Year College students will be addressed. We will examine tools that actively engage students, providing examples of: advising syllabus, program specific newsletter, periodic group e-mail, in-class advising announcements, Brown Bag luncheon topics for students and WebCT.  Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to incorportate advising  techniques to better serve students.
